Deep-sea researchers uncover unexplained line of holes on ocean flooring

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration produced the discovery through an expedition learning the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, a 10,000-mile-prolonged underwater mountain array, in accordance to the Miami Herald. The oddity was located at a depth of 1.7 miles, at the summit of an underwater volcano close to the Azores.

"On Saturday's #Okeanos dive, we observed numerous of these sublinear sets of holes in the sediment. These holes have been previously claimed from the region, but their origin stays a thriller. Whilst they look practically human manufactured, the minor piles of sediment close to the holes make them look like they have been excavated by ... anything," the NOAA wrote on its Fb page.
The surrounding terrain is a simple mattress of undisturbed sand, creating the line of holes stick out.
The discovering left the experts so perplexed that they turned to the general public for theories. Between those people in the Facebook comment section ended up hypotheses suggesting fuel methane, underwater springs, an underwater cave opening up, a style of crab moving along the ocean ground, and even aliens.

The discovery was produced as aspect of the NOAA's "Voyage to the Ridge 2022," which seeks to map out inadequately recognized areas of the Atlantic Ocean.
