Roughly 4,000 beagles are being rescued from a breeding facility in Virginia just after various violations pressured the facility to close its doorways.

The approach started Thursday to free of charge the puppies from the Envigo breeding and exploration facility in Cumberland, Virginia, according to a report.

Homeward Trails, a rescue group, has partnered with the Humane Modern society of the United States to rescue the beagles and help them locate new residences in the coming months.

At the very least 400 of the beagles have been transferred out of the Envigo facility Thursday, in accordance to the report.

Of these 400, 106 have been puppies.

Legislation recognized as the "beagle bills" were being recently passed in Virginia with bipartisan assistance.
