An Arizona man was arrested after shooting and killing his roommate in his sleep following an argument about a broken microwave, authorities said.

Officials responded to the pair's Golden Valley residence around 3:55 p.m. Wednesday, and they arrested Robert Hoenshell Jr., 73, for the murder of Everett Yates, 73, according to a report.

The pair had a heated argument over a broken microwave, the Mohave County Sheriff's Office said.

Hoenshell shot Yates dead in his sleep the next day, the report noted.

The suspect has been charged with first-degree murder, and the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
