Vivek Ramaswamy would ‘be surprised’ if Trump targets him in 2024 race
Asher Notheis February 25, 10:16 AM February 25, 10:16 AMThe latest candidate to enter the GOP primary for the 2024 presidential race is not afraid of facing fights with the field's front-runner.
The comments from Vivek Ramaswamy, a 37-year-old billionaire who announced his run in the next presidential election on Tuesday, come after former President Donald Trump has already gone after former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, who announced her candidacy in the 2024 race in mid-February. Trump has also attacked Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), who has yet to announce a 2024 run but is strongly speculated to.

"I’d be surprised if he came that way with me just because we’re friends," Ramaswamy told Online News 72h. "I think we have a deep, mutual respect for one another. We’re both energetic people."
Ramaswamy went on to point out that when Trump ran for president in 2016, he was "an outsider" and "disrupter," which Ramaswamy claimed is what he is doing now for 2024. However, in the case that the former president does target the young billionaire, Ramaswamy says that he is prepared for it.
"If he is, sure, it’s a competition," he said. "We’re happy to do that. Competition breeds innovation, and it’s not going to bother me."
